Young Professionals Restoring Their City

Christian Leaders’ Movement in Indonesia

Resource Global, founded in Jakarta in 2017, has experienced significant growth over the years. In 2022, the organization expanded to Medan, recognizing the challenges Christians face in integrating faith and work. While this concept remains unfamiliar to many in Medan, there is a growing demand for guidance, mentorship, and community support among marketplace leaders.

In recent years, many first-generation Christians have returned from overseas to continue their families’ business legacies. However, the prevailing work culture in Medan has often driven them away. Despite these challenges, a number of young Christian entrepreneurs have chosen to stay, understanding the importance of fostering a Gospel-driven workplace. They are determined to make a positive impact within their companies and, by extension, in the city of Medan.

Why Indonesia Virtual Cohort?

As we engaged with participants in Medan, we realized the concept of faith and work integration is still foreign. We observed a similar pattern emerging in other cities—faith-driven professionals grappling with the same struggles, seeking wisdom, and longing for a like-minded community to support them in their journey. Recognizing this widespread need, Resource Global is taking a bold step forward in 2025 by launching its cohort program virtually. This initiative will allow individuals from cities across Indonesia to engage in meaningful conversations on faith and work, equipping them with the resources, mentorship, and community they need to thrive.

By expanding virtually, we aim to bridge geographical gaps and create a nationwide network of faithful individuals in the marketplace. We are actively seeking leaders who are willing to share their stories, experiences, and insights to inspire and equip others in their respective cities. Together, we can cultivate a stronger movement of faith-driven professionals across Indonesia.

Meet our Indonesia Virtual Cohort City Director

Jeffrey Sukijung was born in Medan, the third largest city in Indonesia. After he studied abroad for a decade, he returned home to Medan to continue his family business. He is now CEO of Felindo, a trucking company based in the island of Sumatra. He just married his sweetheart Jenny.

But as a Christ-follower, Jeff is battling a local culture that idolizes money. Business owners remain task-oriented, and not people-oriented; overtime and non-stop work is applauded. Even in the family culture, some marketplace Christians put more faith in money than the Lord. The concept of discipleship is not well known or practiced, even in local churches.

Jeff wants to change this dynamic.

He is passionate about building a culture and community of “Whole Life Discipleship” for every day of our lives, and in every vocation to which we are called. He is driven to bring out the best in people. Discipleship has always been in his heart.

Jeff's hope and prayer is for God to call like-minded, faith-driven people in Medan to start a new breed of marketplace leader. So, when asked to lead a Resource Global cohort in Medan, Jeff’s response was: “This is an answer to prayer.”

After leading Resource Global in Medan for three years, Jeff observed that cities beyond Medan and Jakarta face similar challenges, particularly the lack of momentum in the faith and work space. To address this, in 2025, the Medan Cohort will be transformed into a virtual cohort, enabling it to connect with individuals from various cities and islands across Indonesia.
