Resource Global welcomes three new marketplace leaders to the Global Board of Directors

CHICAGO, IL - Resource Global is pleased to announce three new board members joining our Global Board of Directors. They are Keri-Leigh Paschal, Marissa Maren and Ling Kung. They replace Board Chairman Willian Adeji, Wayne Pedersen, and Julia Mulligan, who have completed their terms on the Board. We greatly appreciate the committed work of William, Wayne and Julia, and are excited to welcome our new members.

Keri-Leigh Paschal
Executive Trustee and Co-Founder
Nation Builder Trust at Mergon

Keri completed her post-graduate studies in biochemistry, specialising in HIV research, and subsequently qualified as an educator. Whilst working in marketing and development roles, Keri initiated and led a national drive to raise awareness for autism in South Africa - the catalyst for her social investment passion.

In 2011, Keri joined Mergon, an investment group that exists to create Kingdom impact and equip others to do the same. Emerging from this Mergon vision, the Nation Builder Trust came into being in 2012. Nation Builder inspires and equips the business community in South Africa to lead social change. There are three key principles that underpin Nation Builder’s approach - selfless pursuit of a common goal, valuing each person’s unique role and contribution, and moving beyond conversation to collaboration and co-creation. The ultimate goal is to secure a prosperous South Africa for all of its people.

Keri and her husband Brandon are actively involved in church leadership and love to travel, run, and explore the outdoors.

Marissa Maren
New Business and Strategy, Busana Apparel Group
Director of the Kingdom Entrepreneurship Academy
Resource Global alumna

Born into a multicultural family, with an Irish-American mother and an Indian-Indonesian father, Marissa has lived half of her life in Indonesia and the other half in the United States.

On both sides of the world, Marissa finds energy in using business as a vehicle for shining God’s light and truth into the world. At Busana Apparel Group in Indonesia, Marissa develops new business opportunities and drives corporate strategy. She is thankful for the opportunity to serve God in this family business, founded by her late father. The group’s factories employ over 25,000 people, of which many are young women around Marissa’s age. Marissa has a particular passion for businesses that touch the middle and bottom of the pyramid.

Prior to working with Busana Apparel Group in Jakarta, Marissa worked for several years at Barclays Capital in their investment banking division in New York, where she issued corporate bond and loan offerings. Marissa started her career at Lehman Brothers where she lived through the firm’s collapse in 2008 and experienced firsthand how businesses can be misused and balance sheets can be misrepresented.

Starting from 2008 in New York, Marissa has been active in pursuing a spiritual integration of faith into her work. At the Center of Faith and Work, a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Marissa was a fellow of the 9-month Gotham fellowship in 2011. In Jakarta, Marissa has been part of a similar community that is focused on the integration of faith and business, the Kingdom Entrepreneurship Academy. In 2014, she completed the 6-month program where businesspeople in Jakarta gather to learn and grow as a community of skilled kingdom-builders.

As of 2015, Marissa has taken a leadership position as a Director of the Kingdom Entrepreneurship Academy. She is also a graduate of Resource Global’s Cohort Program in Jakarta.

Marissa graduated with high honors from Tufts University, in the greater capital region of Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in entrepreneurial leadership.
